Lion

The central image in this painting is the mighty lion, rightly called the king of the jungle. He is surrounded by numerous meerkats, who, along with their cute faces and bright eyes, can be quite loud, crazy, and sometimes annoying company. The inspiration for this painting was all those friends that every lucky person has in their life. They are very big-hearted, very loyal, and can always be counted on, but in their desire to look out for the other’s well-being, they can also be a little annoying. The Lion, as a shrewd and wise ruler, appreciates the sincerity and goodness of their intentions and therefore manages to enjoy life, knowing that it is always fuller and better in the company of faithful friends and beloved relatives.
